Why Plassic →The method
Barcode, label, or brand name — point your camera and Plassic pulls the product from our curated database instantly.
We infer microplastic exposure risk across five signal classes: packaging, material, processing, category, and third-party data.
Every score comes with a verdict and a concrete swap. Lower-risk. Same function. No sermon.
Why it matters
The average person ingests roughly five grams of plastic every week — the equivalent of a credit card. It ends up in food packaging, synthetic fabrics, personal-care products, and drinking water. Plassic does not detect microplastic particles with your camera. It infers exposure risk from a curated database of signal data — packaging materials, processing methods, independent lab results — and translates that into a single, honest score.
Scores are inferred estimates, not laboratory measurements. Our methodology is fully documented and published in plain English — read it before you trust the number.
